A Word About Owned

Readers of my new story, Transcendent Quality of Remembrance, have had some questions (and rightfully so!) about my other SSHG WIP, Owned. I'll share with you what I answered to one reviewer on Ashwinder:

Thank you for asking about Owned. It is a piece that is very dear to my heart, but when I was writing it, I found it to be emotionally draining

Just FYI, nothing to do with "Owned," but everything to do with the new (intriguingly titled) piece---I am very far behind in reading the Exchange (I got caught up over the holidays and then immediately fell behind again), so I have bookmarked your new one as my gift when I get through the Exchange, and my incentive to keep going. You are my shining beacon! But I'm not quite there yet....

Dearest, I knew it was a gamble to begin posting before the Exchange was done, but you know what they say about Instant Gratification: It Takes Too Long. So yeah, I had to begin posting as SOON as I was done or die from internal combustion.

That said, I completely understand that people are working hard to be good readers/reviewers at the Exchange, and I get that 100%. Please don't feel pressured. If you have time to read my story at ANY time, I will be honored.

Life can get in the way of writing, sometimes, and also the mindset I'm in can get in the way of life - so it's a tricky business to get them properly aligned

This is so damn true, and the reason why CBTM has been shelved for so long.

I'm thrilled that Owned isn't abandoned, I love the whole idea behind the story, equally I totally understand that your mind has to be in the right place to write such a story.

Oh! I can tell by hit counts on Ashwinder that MOE is a favorite that people go back to again and again, but it does my heart good for you to say so. It was my first fanfic, and I was very much in love with that Severus Snape. I'm glad you love him too!

Thank you for the update! I have Owned bookmarked at Ashwinder and TPP, and to learn it is not abandoned, just put on hold for the time being is very comforting. Don't worry, we the faithful readers know that RL can be a hindrance and your mindset must be the right one to get back on track on a story.
