big date tomorrow night with M. Usually I'm nervous preceeding a first date...this time I'm just excited. I hope she is too. Wish me luck.

I take comfort in the fact that God has insight into all the strange and wonderful things that have been happening lately in my tight little circle. My eyes are ever widening and I feel at times that I'm on some odd roller-coaster.

This is not a drill, but it is (most likely) a test.

I missed someone today that I haven't missed in a long time. She's always around and I've let go of those feelings a long time ago. But some small reminder brought old memories back and surprised me more than just a little. Guess I am getting too lonely out here.

She was beautiful last night. Ghosts lingered in mist beneath the yellow California streetlights. The heat of our mouths steaming up windows in a lost grey Cadillac. The world of children and jobs and divorce and finality having been forgotten, if only for a little while. But she was not for me, nor I for her.

I want to erase you -the memory of you- from my world.

Spent a great weekend with Jeff and his family in Texas. WAAAAAAAYYYY too much beer, but fun anyway (always is with Jeff). And okay, yeah, I am jealous of your life :) Love you Jeff, hope you know that.

Soooooo......New Year's Eve. Don't all bad thing begin there? Only in this case, it didn't begin there. And you know what? It wasn't all THAT bad. Let's just say, though, that in the end...it turned out that Jessica's marriage isn't quite as over as she has been leading me to believe.
