But maybe it's not the coffee itself. As you pointed out earlier, people who smoke are more likely to suffer mental illness--perhaps that is also true of people who over-consume caffeine.
That is a good point. They say the more coffee you drink the more you begin to hear voices and hallucinate. There is another side effect that everyone loves - keeping one wide awake. Now, if a person were to stay wide away for too long what happens? They start hallucinating and hearing voices.
Although, i could be way off, seeing as I don't know how little sleep one must get for those fun side effects to take place. Just a thought.
I call bullshit on this. Not only do I drink a massive amount of coffee on a regular basis, I'm typically on 4-5 hours of sleep while doing it. If that's not enough to drive someone to hear voices and hallucinate, I don't think just drinking coffee can.
As for the sleeping 1/3 of your life away, I'm pretty sure in the last year I've lowered that to about 1/5. Consequently, I feel much more accomplished, but my poor coffee maker needs a vacation.
