I always really, really want to do nostalgic, hopeful, beautiful end-of-the-year posts like all you classy girls do, but jesus H if you all don't just prove that you can collectively and individually write about your lives in ways ten times as elegant and heart-wrenching as I could ever hope to. I have been working on that whole quitting fanfic thing, too! Doing extremely well on the not-writing-it front; doing okayish on the not-reading-it front. Good luck!

It is extremely difficult! I am failing. Failing a lot. I am kind of afraid of writing something else.

Somewhat relatedly, I just catalogued a copy of David Foster Wallace's address to the 2005 graduates of Kenyon College - This is Water, and I thought of you. That man was so talented, and in 500 words gave me more hope than any self-help book ever could.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh, not that I've ever read a self-help book. :|
