But, yeah, James McAvoy brings out the maternal instinct in me like whoa. The last thing I saw him in was Starter for Ten, where he's adorably dopey and schoolboyish, so that didn't help much. Keira is just outrageously skinny, though (and I say that as someone who goes to school with 20,000 tiny Asian girls and has all the complexes which go with that). The one where she's in her skivvies is reassuring, as she actually appears to have a) hips and b) thighs, but the ones in the green dress are really kind of frightening.

I've not been terribly impressed with Keira's acting thus far, but I'm willing to give her another chance. (But only because of the costumes. Must think of the costumes! :) )

I think Keira's acting has been visibly improving since the first things I saw her in, which I take as a good sign. And really, I'd go see this anyway, just for the combination of history/costumes/James McAvoy, so it's all good.
