le temps qui glisse est un salaud

The intersection of Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Ian McEwan and the Second World War was already something likely to completely break my brain, so it's probably a good thing nobody told me they were making this film, but then I saw the pictures, and I just, yeah. I lasted right up until the one where he's in UNIFORM and sfjdiodgjiofdg. (Also, I' ( Read more... )

Just dropping by to say that I love your title, and I see that you must have listened to the CD. What did you think?

Thanks - it seemed appropriate. ;) And yes, have been listening all day and am absolutely smitten; thank you so much for the introduction. I'm going to rush out and buy it for myself, and then I'm going to buy it again for my aunt for her birthday next week.

Very appropriate. I'm glad I could point you in the right direction and in some universe I must be gaining points for converting people to the francophone, right?

Definite points! By all means, send any other suggestions my way. I'd listen to a lot more French music, I just don't know where to start.

The one with the black hat is just lovely. Absolutely lovely. And omg James McAvoy uniform hart!!!1eleventy She's so skinny though. He is too. I want to take them home and feed them bacon cheeseburgers or the fashionable meatless equivalent.

Also, I am coming up to Great Canuckistan in the second week of July. We should have a mini-swan con!

AGH, when in the second week of July?! I'm leaving for Toronto on the 9th! D: I'd love to see you, though, if you'll be up before that!

But, yeah, James McAvoy brings out the maternal instinct in me like whoa. The last thing I saw him in was Starter for Ten, where he's adorably dopey and schoolboyish, so that didn't help much. Keira is just outrageously skinny, though (and I say that as someone who goes to school with 20,000 tiny Asian girls and has all the complexes which go with that). The one where she's in her skivvies is reassuring, as she actually appears to have a) hips and b) thighs, but the ones in the green dress are really kind of frightening.

I just saw that yesterday as well. (Don't know how I got there...must have been lost.)

I've not been terribly impressed with Keira's acting thus far, but I'm willing to give her another chance. (But only because of the costumes. Must think of the costumes! :) )

Heh. I got the link from dollsome, I think. I just let these things come to me, mostly. ;)

I think Keira's acting has been visibly improving since the first things I saw her in, which I take as a good sign. And really, I'd go see this anyway, just for the combination of history/costumes/James McAvoy, so it's all good.

Well, I'm almost with you. He should never not be in period costume or uniform, except when he's out of period costume or uniform. If you know what I mean.
