I have no idea about that stuff...it really depends on any user agreement you may have accepted on the site and also your credit card company. there is no law that says your CC cant be charged before items are shipped. At least that is what i have learned being a Tupperware rep. best of luck...let me know if you need a pro opinion.... ~~v
i always order online as well, more so around the holiday and usually never have a problem. This Christmast something like what happened to you happened to me. i simply contacted my credit card company (after finding out the exact name that would be used with the charge that was to be credited) and explained the situation to them. They told me to put it in writing and to mail it to them at the address they gave me. What they did was send me a letter saying that the charge was under investigation and although it could take 60 or 90 days (sorry, i can't remember) to complete their investigation, i would NOT be charged or expected to pay that amount until then. Prior to the credit card completing their investigation the company DID credit my card.
So, i actually didn't have to pay the credit card any money just to have them then credit it back to me.
I failed to mention that this is my *bank* card...so the money is gone. I could dispute it, and would have had it become necessary, but they *got* their money. And I got squat.
Thanks for the advice on how to handle it though. You never know when that might come in handy!
