I placed an order with
This Place for a Bunn Coffee Grinder on 1-26.
My cc was charged on 1-29.
I get an email dated 2-2 that says:
"We are sorry to inform you that some or all of the merchandise you ordered from us is temporarily out of stock. We are working quickly, however, to ship your complete order at the earliest possible date.
We are expecting your order to be shipped out within one month.
You may of course choose to cancel your order at this time, or select to substitute another item. If this is the case, please complete and return the lower portion of this letter to let us know.
Thank you again for letting us serve you.
ONLY complete and return the lower portion of this form if you wish to cancel or substitute other items on your order. Your order is not cancelled until you receive a confirmation email from us."
So I returned the email, placing a note on it stating that I had already been charged for this and asking when I might get a refund.
Two days pass and I don't hear back from them. So I call them this morning and they tell me (AFTER a 30 minute hold) that they received the email and forwarded it to the "drop-shipper" and when they hear back from *them* they will email me back confirming that the order is indeed cancelled.
They have no idea *when* I might expect to hear from them.
And as far as the refund goes, she said it could be 6-8 weeks.
For all the good it did, I explained to them that it only took them *3* days to charge me for a product that was backordered no less, and that I expected it to take no more time than that to credit my account back the money.
Why should I be out my $150+ money for 2 months??
You know, I order stuff online *all* the time and almost never have any problems with it. I've found online shopping to be convenient and speedy for the most part. If however, I had placed orders online with businesses like this when I first started shopping online, I would have quickly dropped the habit.
They give online shopping a bad name.
