Writing from the café in the Big Box Bookstore on my new(!) laptop. It's an HP Pavilion with a 14" screen and five hours of battery life. Without the battery, it weighs 3 pounds. The case is metallic and has a brown-gray sheen that reminds me of the dress I almost wore to prom (or steampunk - that brushed aluminum look), plus an inscribed ( Read more... )

Vista: Yes, sadly. HP's wireless card isn't working with our CISCO router - if this were XP, I'd know where to go to change the settings, even if I didn't know what to change them to. But with Vista, I'm lost. I found a "connections" tab under "internet properties" in "network and sharing center" but selecting "detect settings automatically" hasn't fixed the problem. Sigh.

I've never actually been drunk before, so the comparison's a little lost on me. S'interesting to know, though.

Being drunk's a nice ~floaty~ feeling. Actually I liked that part: much rather be careless and happy than careful and unhappy.

This is interesting though:

This is probably the most articulate thing I've ever heard said on the subject. ♥ More comment later, possibly.

It's awful, I can see it happening to a friend of mine - she's going all neurotic because she doesn't have enough to do at work. She'd be perfect at my job, we should just switch places!

Dear Sonya,

Got your message about your twitter. I have to admit that due to my shut-in status in law school, I barely know what twitter is.

Anyway, I called twice this weekend, something must have happened to your phone.

If your phone comes back, feel free to give me a call. If not, feel free to send me an e-mail, interested in how you're doing.
