Writing from the café in the Big Box Bookstore on my new(!) laptop. It's an HP Pavilion with a 14" screen and five hours of battery life. Without the battery, it weighs 3 pounds. Back to reading The River of Lost Footsteps: A Personal History of Burma by Thant Myint-U. The nice thing about this book is that the author doesn't assume you know anything -- I'm about halfway through, and the "personal" part still hasn't started because the author is too busy filling in background.
