Although the fact the drones are retaining their powers is indeed curious, I fail to see how what appears to be going on is amusing.

I suppose you just don't have an eye for it then.

Or I don't find amusement in people getting hurt.

You must be a rather morose person then.

You sound awfully chipper about all of this. Aren't you at the very least concerned about your own safety, even if you don't care about others'?

Safety?

Safety is an illusion, both here and anywhere else. Something we say we have, just to act like catastrophe, when it does strike, is a genuine surprise.

[ She scoffs just a little. ]

I'm willing to agree that safety is hard to find in this place, but it's not that hard to obtain it in places where other people aren't too busy controlling our minds and making things hard on us on purpose like they do here.

Let me ask you this then.

How often do you think a person expects to be murdered when they walk outside their own home? Not here. Back wherever you're from.

If you're going to make unnecessary emphases, don't accentuate the same word twice in two sentences. It's redundant.

My my, you are a most harsh critic, Fraulein Sto Helit.

I'm an English teacher. Being contrary is part of the occupation.

And I seem to recall you saying something earlier, what was it? That if I had something to say, I ought to just say it?

Ah. I was unaware of your occupation. My condolences.

Indeed I did! I hardly said I had a problem with you being a harsh critic, now did I?

Not entirely.

It makes sense the town could have such control over the drones.

Not very interesting at all.

You're right, it does.

However, it had always seemed more interested in keeping the drones in town and droned. It had never shown any appearance it would use them as weapons or a defense system.

Yes.

I suppose with the recent events concerning Chief "Grady" the twon is now resorting to more desperate measures to retain control...

It could be. Though it seems more interested in just killing us.

It could be the town merely showing its might in a way we didn't know it would do before.

That would be somewhat accurate, and this isn't the first time this has happened. However, I've only known the Milkman to be capable of this style of droning.

Mmmm. I was unaware the Milkman resorted to droning, although given the circumstances it makes sense.

When did it last happen?

I can't recall the last time the native drones were violent, but cases of a a person being droned by the Milkman and acting violently as a result have been happening since before my arrival. As far as I'm aware, the last Milkman droning occured over one year ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if any have happened more recently.

It should seem were being given quite a great show of them now.
