A poodle cut is a very specific show, different than a lion cut for a cat.
I really hate people that take indoor cats in and chuck them outside. And then to not even maintain the poor cat; Maine Coons have pretty specific coat care requirements, and they're not even that hard to fulfil. Bleh.
Our maine coon mix, who we adopted two years ago, has a long fluffy coat which doesn't require regular brushing. I take a shedding comb to him 2-3 times a year when he sheds his undercoat, but otherwise all we do to his coat is pick out the burrs and seeds he finds outside. He's never had a mat form anywhere (I kept a careful eye on him at first, because he's my first longhair cat).
