Loooooool. As a Scottish person, I'm with you on the whole "foreign-people-usually-americans-thinking-they-are-irish" thing. I was in the States this St Patricks Day and the misconceptions were very hilarious.

My Aunt still quivers with fear when she recalls getting her hair cut in NY city on Paddy's day. Some random woman overheard her talking, realised she was Irish, and ran out onto the street dragging people in to kiss her. "OMG KISS HER SHE'S IRISH!"

Thing is, it's never the normal Americans, it's always the nutzos that think they're Irish. *insert comment about psychotic Celtic genes being the root cause*

My husband's family are the WORST. They talk all the time about their Irish heritage and whenever they wear green they are like "Wow I am feeling so IRISH" today. The funny thing is, my husband made a pretty good family tree going back several generations and there wasn't any Irish link. They could have come from anywhere but Ireland seems to be the favoured choice.

It wouldn't be so obnoxious if they knew something about the country they claim to be from. If you were born in America and all your relatives were too YOU ARE AMERICAN.

That is by and far one of the dumbest snark communities ever. Who cares if other people aren't adhering to your very precise ideals of a certain fashion.(One that didn't even originate in your country, for christ's sake...) They're having fun and you're just being bitter and trying to ruin it. I have to imagine most of these girls are just jealous because they were ridiculed for their poor fashion sense in highschool, or something.

God, fan based communities are the worst sometimes.

I totally agree with you there. I love lolita style, but I HATE the elitism some people have about it. OMG UR SHOES ARE A SHADE DARKER THAN YOUR HEADDRESS OMG -- it's not a big deal, people.

It means she thinks or acts like she's both sexes, or blurs the lines between sexes, and her sig. other is a female to male transgendered person.

Well, it's always more complicated than that but anyway...:/
