Yeah, I'm *giggling* at CF_Hardcore, once again.

So, over in a post about the oddness of an anti-abortion commercial, which actually starts out pretty normally, wuchan decides to let everyone know exactly what happens when you don't have an abortion.

Keep in mind, the left "mother" (as wuchan calls them!) is the one who had the abortion. The right "mother" kept her child.

HEY! What's wrong with bare feet??

I hate shoes. I only wear them when I have to leave the house for work and such. And I take them off at work when I know we won't have clients in the building.

SHOES SUCK!

Gosh, opinions of the child-free in cf_hardcore? Shurley shome mishtake.

Anyway, I don't think she meant all mothers have that experience, just that it would provide an interesting counterbalance to the (frankly ridiculous) commercial.

And no, I'm not childfree.

That's what I gathered. Since they showed best case scenario for the planted seed in the commercial, their idea of the best case scenario for the woman who had the abortion would be a pleasant life rather than a barren heap of dirt.

It was a pretty ridiculous commercial. I thought the response was a fairly adept mocking of such. I see no stupid here.

2nded. I see typical cf_hardcore musings, in cf_hardcore. It might be an *eyeroll* but hey..it's cf_hardcore. If I read that comm daily my eyes would become stuck staring at my brain.

Yeah, because when I decided to become a mother when I unexpectedly became preggers, that's exactly what happened to me.

Only not. Note the clean shirt, the clean hair, the job, etc...

And what's that bullshit about "an unfaithful husband because her personality has changed so much"? My ex-husband was unfaithful because he was a dickhole, not because of any flaw in my personality from having a kid. If anything, my personality changed because he cheated.

yeah, i thought that unfaithful husband bit was a little strange.

Actually, you pointed out something that's always kind of bothered me about the militant childfree.

Generally, most CF women in the community tend to be feminists of some sorts. Very into equality and the enforcement of the ideal that a woman is free to do whatever she can with her life. Yes, a lot of that comes down to being able to choose NOT to be a mother when for most of our existence, that was the only option for a woman and it's still something that people think oddly of you if you choose not to.

That all makes sense.

But yet, so many of the CF community can actually be very anti-female. In an environment where you find so many women believing a woman to be capable of anything and everything she wants for herself, it's rather demoralizing to find that so many of the women immediately assume that a man will be unfaithful because it is the woman's fault, largely because she had children.

Which seems to be me to be heavy handed on the victim blaming and extremely short on the actual feminist ideals so many seem to tout.

Amen. I don't associate with that movement anymore for several reasons, and that's one of them. The misogyny at times was appalling. Very well stated!
