Actually, the only book series I'd chop off all my limbs, tongue, and nose off to read the next book for would be George R R Martin. As long as I could read the damn thing, that's all I'd care about.

My biggest fear in life? George R R Martin will die before he finishes his book series. I will literally be in mourning for the author and all his characters. Its supposed to be seven books... he's working on the fifth one... and he's a grizzly old man...

The first book was published in 1996.

I guess the moral of the story is... I sorta understand where these Harry Potter fangirls/bois are coming from...
