Especially since this weekend has been really a bit crappy thus far. So has this week. :(
Lengthy and squeeish and very occasionally a bit meta thoughts on TFA Season 2, by episode:

I have this need to somehow insert modern art into all my fandoms somehow. I feel like, dammit, I did that research project back in high school; I might as well get some use out of it.
It would make sense that he did, and that... raises even more questions. :P
Starscream, you creeper. I love it. Though he is the only man woman robot he could ever be happy with I suppose, at least in this continuity. >__> Is it sad that I kind of hope coward!Starscream is okay after the series ends? I just don’t want him to get locked up, he hasn’t done anything wrong!
Bulkhead's case is even better because he's good at mathematical/technical stuff and at the same time he loves art.
I do love that. I’m interested in both fields myself (though my scientific interests are more biological than engineering) and it’s really nice to have a character who loves them both as well. It’s another thing I’d like to fic about if I ever got the chance or knew how to do it in an interesting way.
As silly as this show ( ... )

But I still find him adorable. Can't help it.
The fact that he almost never gets to actually use his punch helps, I think - he's always getting knocked back or blown up with it, which helps balance out the "huge and menacing" aspect. That and he's like Megatron's big evil puppy. He will fetch sticks and find lost objects and probably sit at his master's feet while he reads the paper if he asked.
But he's an interesting character, in spite of being a jerk.
I feel like the show gives him reasons for being a jerk (especially later) without excusing his jerkiness, which is kind of nice. It gives him dimension. And I love the fact that Optimus occasionally pushes back at him, but afterwards he’s always trying to repair that friendship - he doesn’t actually want to cut off ties with him, probably thanks to his guilt over losing Elita (which it turns out probably caused some of Sentinel’s jerkiness), even though he’s getting literally nothing out of that friendship at the start of the series. It’s interesting ( ... )
