This post tests the future-dating function. I am loading it at 1:20 PM Pacific Time, but dating it for 2:00 PM Pacific Time. I'll look at some of your Friends Lists to see that it is not visible until 2:00, but that it does pop up and become visible at 2:00 ( Read more... )

You're correct; this isn't visible on my flist. I think it says something about that in the FAQ, but it's not terribly prominent.

As for your questions:

1. They'll show your default icon, unless...

2. If you tag B with the same keyword as A, it will show up on any post or comment where you previously had A. This is why most of my keywords are generic. For example, this is the current incarnation of "pout," for which I've had about half a dozen different icons at any given time. If you were to go way back to something I posted with the Satine "le pout" one back in 2004, it would show you this Vicki one.

3. I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here, but I think the above cover it. Let me know if they don't.

Your explanation is clear. My third question would have been better phrased: "Is there any difference between how your posts on your own LJ and your comments on other people's LJs respond to replacement icons?" Your answer was: "Nope." :-)

I'm now wondering, for every post on which no one ever commented -- especially the overwrought personal ones ;-) but also some fanfic -- whether no one ever saw it. Ah, well. Now I know.
