Win XP Desktop Appearance Properties

The only suggestion I have is to head over to www.stardock.com and check out their program called WindowBlinds.

You can create your own custom colours and styles by clicking the Advanced button in the same Appearance tab that you set the style.

I can change the desktop, text and background from there, but the windows -- frames, scroll bars, etc. -- stay stubbornly as preprogrammed as long as I retain "XP" mode. For example, I just now went in and changed them to maroon in those tab settings, and clicked "Apply" and then "Okay," but they're still green in practice.

In ME, I used to change the colors at least once a month. I can still do that in XP if I revert to the square corners and 2D effects of "Windows Classic" mode, but I rather like the rounded, 3D XP look. I suppose that is achieved with graphics files, and so is not malleable. ~shrug~
