I have not made this recipe personally, so I can't tell you for sure that it's fantastic, however it is from Cook's Illustrated and every recipe I have ever made from them has been both awesome and nearly foolproof. The site requires membership, so I will post it here for you

Thanks! This is a good start. (I'll probably need to do a bit more research to work up a vegetarian version.) If there's bourbon in the stuffing, though, then I've got a good excuse to put bourbon in the pie.

Who needs an excuse for bourbon! I would think you could use a veggie sausage, though you would probably need to add fat from another source to keep it from getting dry. More butter possibly.

As a kindness to my cousin, assuming he's in attendance, I'd probably need to make versions with and without. I guess one of his sobriety goals, in addition to not drinking, is to not eat food made using alcoholic beverages. So no wine sauce, beer bread, or bourbon-laced pie for him.
