So far, the anti-war left has been splintered, reactionary, ignorant, uninformed, and possessing a number of other less than elegant attributes, but at least we've learned one thing and gotten one thing right.

So far, the pro-war right has been splintered, reactionary, ignorant, uninformed, and possessing a number of other less than elegant attributes, but at least we've learned one thing and gotten one thing right.

Neither of these statements are correct. Neither are true. Very thoughtful people are standing strong on both sides. Both groups have some who are ignorant and some who are brilliant. That is the way it works. Maybe there are a few more vociferous idiots on the left because they try harder to be heard than those idiots on the right. But trust me - There are well-informed, united, thoughtful, and elegant people on both sides and there are fools on both sides. I know you are open minded and well read. Try not to generalize.

We generalize! As language speaking creatures, we generalize, distort, and delete. If we didn't generalize, we'd have to figure out where every key is every new keyboard we come across. So generalizing isn't a bad thing to do, as long as it's useful, and not over generalizing. Was I over generalizing? I was referring to movement as a whole, not just the thoughtful, bright protesters who work in the UT tower ( ... )
