Joshua allowed Iranda to lean against him, to gain strength to keep standing. He ran through options in his head, trying to figure out the best way to help support his friend's family. He could fudge the numbers for the survivor's benefits - it wouldn't take much justification to Council, most were friends with Aaron and his wife so..
Iranda was grateful Joshua was there merely because she didn't think she had enough strength to keep standing. A thousand what if's swarmed her - what if they had found him sooner, what if she had insisted he stayed home because Peak had been colicky and she needed the extra help, what if.. She turned, curling into Joshua's arms and wept silently on his shoulder.
