Around Town then the Dorms - Quite Early Wednesday 12/13 - Santa Lucia
Pippi is dressed in a white dress with a red sash. There's a wreath on her head that has shiny golden stars woven into it. Normally, there would be lit candles instead of stars. She's not afraid of setting her hair on fire, she just doesn't want to get wax in anybody's carpet.
She's got a tray with coffee (there's a smaller pot of tea) and some saffron rolls as well as ginger bread.
As she walks through the hallways of the dorms and the streets of the town, she sings softly...
Natten går tunga fjät, runt gård och stuga.
Kring jord som sol'n förlät, skuggorna ruva.
Då i vårt mörka hus, stiga med tända ljus,
Sankta Lucia, Sankta Lucia.
Natten var stor och stum. Nu hör det svingar,
i alla tysta rum, sus som av vingar.
Se på vår tröskel står vitkläd, med ljus i hår,
Sankta Lucia, Sankta Lucia.
Mörkret skall flykta snart ur jordens dalar.
Så hon ett underbart ord till oss talar.
Dagen skall åter ny, stiga ur rosig sky,

Lo! 'tis the Queen of Light
Joyfully singing.
Clad in her garment white,
Wearing her crown of light,

Christmas is drawing nigh
Candles are gleaming.
Welcome thou vision rare,
Lights glowing in thy hair.

[ooc: Pippi is Swedish and thus is celebrating LucyFest (No, not that Lucy! this one!) It is customary for a young girl to go around on this day waking everybody up early, bringing them Coffee and Baked goods. One assumes the refreshments are to keep people from martyring her again for waking them up so damn early. ;) If you think Pippi would stop by your room, or house, or if you think she wouldn't but is singing in the hallway outside your door (she's kinda trying to be vaguely quiet) feel free to react here or ping here with a link to your room/home post. Anybody who doesn't wake up or she is otherwise unable to get to will receive a small package of heart shaped gingerbread cookies outside their doors when they do get around to waking up.
