Pippi stood still and listened intently for a moment. Eventually she shrugged and continued on her way, hopping over a brook that seemed to run out from under the mirror on the other side.
"The monster didn't hurt you did it? Are you okay?" an unfamiliar boy's voice asked.
Pippi turned to look at somebody outside the frame of the mirror.
"Oh... I guess that was you. I thought... Yeah, I'm fine. He agreed to leave you guys alone as long as you don't go into the woods past the bulbous looking tree over that way... Did you just say anything about a mirror?" She asked handing the paper she was holding to the unseen boy.
"Well, we'll see how long it holds to this." the voice said. "Mirror? No. You sure are obsessed with mirrors. I'm sorry our elders couldn't help you with that. But they would like to honor you tonight at the feast for your efforts to help us. Will you come?"
"...That'd be nice but, I really should keep looking."
The boy Pip couldn't see, but could hear, and who could not see or hear Pip, shook his head and headed back to his village.
"It is you? I can hear you!" Pippi is looking around frantically but for the most part her back it to Pip and whatever he's looking out of on her side.
"I knew it had to do with the mirror..." she muttered. "I can't see you though. And I can't find anybody who knows anything about mirrors that'll tell me how to get back."
"We're trying all we can on this end," Pip said. "Walter said he's going to talk to Azri-something or other. Supposedly he's an angel. You going to be alright in there?"

But he's French so it's charming when he does it.
At least, that's what he would say most likely.
