Monday - Half Past Brillig - Inside the Mirror

Anybody looking at Pippi's antique mirror a few hours after she fell into it will notice that the reflection of the actual surroundings will fade a bit and another image appear behind it.

Rather like looking into a dark store window, one can see one's reflection, but also what is on the other side.

Pippi, who is normally quite mimsey, is standing in a clearing of a dark and sinister wood at the feet of a young looking creature with her arms crossed and a rather frumious look on her face.

"Seriously, stop your burbling, it neither frightens nor impresses me. It's kinda gross if you want to know the truth." she said. "You should really consider this nonaggression pact with the village. I mean, you both got bigger fish to fry then eachother... Proverbially bigger that is. 'Cause you're pretty big... Any way. You got these Maxim foes, and the Ju-ju-bee birds or whatever... And those band snatchers. Wouldn't you rather not have to worry about the humans while you take care of them?"

The creature looked dubious that Pippi actually knew what she was talking about in regards to the socio-political climate of the surrounding area, but she did have a point.

"Look, it's simple, they don't want to have to worry about you any more. And they got this strapping young lad with a sword that's as big as he is. And this sword is at least a +3 is so big, and so sharp, and probably magical... It's such a sword that there's probably a word just to describe how wonderful and special and deadly it is... I don't know what that word is... It's not 'shponk', I can tell you that much. But if you don't agree to this new 'let's leave each other alone' policy, he's going to come down here with that sword, find you, and lop your head off as long as he can roll a 2 or a 4 on a d6. So ask yourself... What do you like better? Terrorizing the villagers? Or living?"

After some more negotiation she left it to have its tea and with its signature on a Declaration of Non-Agression...

She went galomping back.
