The Nightlight
Theme 020. Glow, Donghae/Kibum
Donghae's nightlight keeps Kibum awake, because I'm original like that.

Kibum pulled the covers over his head... but then his feet were cold. So he moved his pillow over his face... but then he couldn't breathe comfortably. So he turned over to look at Donghae in the next bed. "Can we please turn that nightlight off?"
"I'm scared." Donghae mumbled tiredly, half muffled by the pillow his face was stuck against.
"Of ghosts."
"Yeah, of ghosts..."
"You can't see the ghosts if there's no light on, hyung."
"Shut up, Kibum." Donghae turned his face further into the bed, and Kibum wondered if he could even see the nightlight with his face buried that way. Irritated, he turned on his back and moved his arms over his eyes. Somehow, he could still see the light from the tiny little plug in.
He tried to ignore it, but it was bothering him. What made Donghae think a stupid nightlight was going to help him anyway? ... Why is a grown man even this afraid of ghosts?
Kibum waited... and waited... and finally, Donghae was mumbling, the way he usually did when he slept.
Carefully and quietly, and most notably - tiredly, Kibum crawled out of bed and made his way over to the nightlight. With the simple flick of his finger, it's tiny glow clicked away and the room was covered in darkness.
... Such darkness that Kibum couldn't see where his bed was. At all. It was really just a straight line from the night light to his bed though, right? He walked slowly, a hand out in front of him, feeling for the bed. Sure enough, his hand reached the footboard, and from there, he easily climbed onto the mattress...
Donghae's mattress. On top of Donghae.
Donghae woke with a pathetic yelp, swatting at Kibum in a blind panic.
Kibum managed to escape Donghae's brutal abuse for a moment, falling off the bed onto the floor. Then, Donghae jumped off the bed - right onto his stomach. Kibum gasped, but fortunately Donghae didn't stand there long. He sped off, screaming like an idiot, and then the light came on.
They stared at each other, Kibum on the floor and Donghae halfway out the room.
"Kibum!!!" Donghae yelped, shocked, then he looked down over himself. "...Were you trying something on me??"
Kibum put a hand to his forehead, and fought a laugh.
