Dark and creepy and wonderful! And you've achieved such a beautiful sense of the sea! The salt, the sand in Sam's bed, the rhythm of the waves . . . you made me feel the same oceanic "pull" as Sam. And his inevitable transformation gave me goosebumps.

Dean refusing to keep Sam's skin if they failed. I understand why, but . . . *sobs*

Your side characters -- especially the selkie -- were really well-done. Yeah, she wasn't human, yeah, she was a danger to the boys . . . but I liked her. And it's kind of a throwaway line, but the idea of the selkie creating a skin out of human flesh to trade for her own creeped me out like few lines have ever managed.

LOVE this. Brilliant, just brilliant. Brava!!

I loved this from start to finish. Such a great atmosphere and great story. Best part: Something so big the sea can't absorb or hold it. "Dean's enough," he says. <3 <3 <3

Whoa. What a way with words! This whole thing is just chalked so full of beautiful imagery, and the way you convey the emotions of not just the POV character, but of side characters and even the monster, is freaking amazing. I went to a whole different place reading this, and as far as I'm concerned there's nothing better. PERFECT.
