hit the ground running

I'm having kind of a hard day. Actually, I'm having kind of a hard month, but yesterday my beloved Goderich, town of (some of) my childhood, prettiest little town in Ontario, where I just was on Saturday, was hit by a tornado. One person was killed, several were injured, and the property damage was pretty bad, I think. I hope no one I know was ( Read more... )

Poor, poor Goderich. :( And Jack Layton. Sad news day all around. :(

But whee! Photos! Of a good weekend, yay!

Poor Goderich! Tornadoes are unnecessary, and so is cancer. :(

It was a good weekend! I hope yours was, as well. How was the demonstration?

I know I was freaked out on both accounts: Goderich & Jack :(

You being there Saturday and seeing those clouds like that it's hard to imagine just the next day something ripping through there. Victoria Street apparently got the brunt of it.

The only good thing is all I keep hearing is wonderful stories about neighborly response. People helping each other clear rubble and stuff. You rarely see that sense of community anymore so it was nice to see the whole town helping one another.

It's a hard day for Canada. :(

I heard that Victoria Street had the worst of it, too, but I was looking at pictures on Flickr earlier, and West Street (the road to the beach! my friend lives there!) looked pretty damaged, as well as the whole of the Square. It's really good that neighbours have come together to help each other. I hope that sort of spirit keeps up.

Ahahahaha, BALD. That is awesome. My mom (who saw me knitting it and knew how big it was) thought that picture was of my THUMB. Clearly, I should have just gotten someone to take a picture of the back of the crown on my HEAD. :P

Thank you, sweet babygirl! I hope your week is wonderful, too!! Mwah!!!
