long weekend & GNEW in review

Though I'd expected that my four-day weekend would seem extremely busy (and too short) due to all of the things I had planned, it turned out to be very relaxing.

Thursday:

Lise's first words upon seeing my hair were, "Oh!  This isn't as bad as you made it sound!"  Translation:  "I can fix this!"  :-)  And she did.  She cut it in a really cute style ( Read more... )

Well hello there, ma'am!

It was delightful to hang out with you too. I love that about GNE. Short as the event is, somehow there always seems to be enough time to really settle down and have a conversation. :D

*waves at you* :-)

I liked that a lot, too. The one time I went to GNE back in the "good ol' days" when it was still on the ocean, I really didn't know all that many people there, so I didn't experience that as much as I did this time. It was remarkable to me just how much I was able to do activity-wise during the event, and yet it still felt as if it was a slow-paced event with tons of time for hanging out with people.

Hello! It was delightful to meet you (thank you, O serendipitous camping placement), and to have lots of time to just kind of noodle around. I love that long stretch of the afternoon that has about 14 hours in it. ;)

(In re: his Maj - I have insufficient words, although many of them are Germanically derived.)

Yay, serendipity! :-D I agree about the 14-hour afternoon, too. I blame the time-space continuum, but in a good way. :-D

I wish I were quicker with words, because it was only after the conversation with HRM was over that I thought of all of the pithy-yet-peerlike smackdowns I could have delivered. Instead, no, I was just stunned into silence. ~sigh~

I'm not sure there is a pithy-but-peerlike smackdown large enough for that one. I think you need a stick.
