I am pleased (and surprised!) to have discovered that taking Rt. 95, even during rush hour, saves me at least 20 minutes-1/2 hour of driving to most of my southern MA facilities.  Hence, I'm doing a whole lot less driving on Rt. 495.  This is something of a surprise--I'd expected the commute would be much longer with the slower traffic, but ( Read more... )

Keep in mind that the traffic is very much lighter than usual this week due to public school vacation in MA. See if the time is still the same next week for a true test...

Too true! And I was aware of that. I actually first noticed this phenomenon a couple of weeks ago when it wasn't school vacation. I'll test again on more higher-traffic days. Worst case scenario, I go back to using 495. That's what I like about living in Lowell--I have choices!

if Gloria weren't in the shop, I'd meet you there. :(

Gloria was released about 4:30 yesterday.

So, you up for some Ikea this afternoon? (Saturday) I don't think I can do it tomorrow.

I have to run Zeph to the bank and work, but I'll be done with that by 1:00pm. I'll still need to get some groceries, but we could hit up Ikea first.

I think that's even cheaper than Wal-Mart!

I didn't happen to notice the dishtowels. But I did get a number of other very interesting things! Some planned, some unplanned but useful (e.g. a new pillow). And I did get the cutting boards. Now I just need to hit Home Depot and I'll be ready to get started (finally
