A phone conversation 5 weeks ago:

Me:  It's too bad the DCs never all get together in the same place to share our ideas.
David S. (the DC in Tennessee):  I know exactly what you mean!  A conference call once a month is never enough, especially since no one except David Boss really talks much in those.

A dinner conversation last month while DB and I ( Read more... )

RE: your boss running with your idea: I think that is called being the power behind the throne. >:)

BTW, Mistress Microvision, and Demi-Goddess of all things Tablet Weaving (Thora is the primary, sorry): Does going all in one direction till the cows come home do weird things to one's ply tightness (or spin for singles) that I should worry about before I finish warping my silk/wool blend birthday present?

Actually, Thora has told me she considers me the Mistress of execution. I consider her to be the Mistress of structure and theory. I think it's a good way to split the skill set, personally. :-)

Yes, going all in one direction will affect the ply tightness/spin.

I've always wondered how long it takes for cows to come home. I'm pretty sure that it's likely to be at dinnertime. :-P

No wonder I never finish my weavings then; I've been kowtowing to the wrong major deity!

So...

Oh Great Mistress Microvision, Goddess of the Execution of Tabletweaving, that being the Process and Completion of works in the most Noble Art, and neither its Structure nor Theory, *how*, pray tell me, please, will 'going all in one direction... affect (sic ;) the ply tightness/spin,' for I, your humble servant, have not the wisdom to parse from the words you deigned to type your true answer, but only my own meager question reaffirmed.

(better? ;)

Oh, no...you need to kowtow to the Goddess of Copious Spare Time or the Goddess of Mental Energy for Artwork. Let me know once you track 'em down ( ... )

I know that he's not the kind of guy who would feel that he owns my ideas. I'm sure that David S. has talked with him about this, too, and I wouldn't be surprised at this point if he's talked with some of the other DCs as well. I just found it amusing that he'd seemed to have completely forgotten our previous discussion on the subject.

As far as iTunes goes, you can either use a shopping cart instead of 1-Click, or you can set up a playlist for things you want to buy, and drag and drop the song into it. It will store a shortcut to that song.

Aha! I hadn't realized I could do it via playlist--that's probably easiest, since I do like the 1-click setting. Thanks!
