Wearing a bag on her shoulder and a jaded expression on her face, Matilda walks through a door and into this confusing location. She spends a bit of time looking around and wondering where on earth, or possibly earths, she is. During this time she probably gets bumped into by several people. In any case, she begins wandering aimlessly, inspecting anything interesting that she sees. What such interesting things might cross her path?

The first thing that might attract her attention is the mountain of a man working a portable forge, in the middle of the long low room.

Well, large people with forges call the attention pretty easily, 'tis true.

She wanders over and tries to see what he's working on. Failing that attempt, she asks him instead. "Excuse me, but what's that you're making?"

He peers down - and down - to see where the voice came from, and finally breaks into a smile as he spots her.

"Well, hello, little miss!" He holds up the fine dagger he's making for her to see.
