Yesterday we all had to go register with the FFOR, which is the Indian Govt office that keeps track of foreigners. Of course we already have perfectly valid visas, but we still had to go along with about 1000 pages of paperwork to be registered to stay in the country. We all got here no problem after 30 hours of flights around the world. It's all a bit hectic at the moment, and has certainly been a challenge for Catherine. She is starting here new school today which will help a lot as it's great school. Movers are booked, visas are back, and I finished work today. This time next week we'll be on our way........

As of about 10:20 this morning I am now an American citizen. I was sworn in along 2634 other people in front of the district judge this morning. It's nice to get this out of the way and it makes various life decisions a bit easier.

I hate selling a house. It's so invasive, you have to keep it spotless (which with 2 kids is impossible). Then you have to vacate at  a moments notice because someone may be coming around in the next hour ( Read more... )

Just slept off 30 hours of jet lag, but i'm back from Bombay. May post more later but it was an interesting trip.

Got into Bombay with no real problem last night, although the 14 hour flight from Newark was a stretch. Nothing can prepare you for the sheer number of people there are here. You simply cannot avoid swarms of people wandering about ( Read more... )

Catherine (who is five today) came home from school/daycare and proudly informed us that... "Miss Sandy (her teacher) says Jesus lives in my heart".

I think a trip to the principals office is in order tomorrow. Anyone have the number of the ACLU?....... sigh.
