My story for writerinadrawer is due by tomorrow at 3 ... I have to leave for work in about six hours. No inspiration is forthcoming. I have one sentence written, and it's not a sentence I'd build a fic around

I just saw this now but... *cheerleads* you can do it!
I once forgot until 45 minutes before the deadline, and I was packing to leave on a trip. Whipped something out in half and hour and made it past the mark (I also think I got a LOT of comments on it - something like 5 negative and 3 positive. It was bizzare.)
Thank you! Given that two people defaulted this week, I'm not sure if I should say whether or not I actually made it. >.>; But I did.
Wow. Which one was that?
I've had mixed reactions on ones I've written upon waking at four in the morning and popped out before work. One won, the other got the most negative votes I've known myself to get to date.
(Yay if I'm allowed to know that! I don't see why not. It's not like I know which one's yours anyway.)
It was the, um... the TV episode title one. I wrote a funny, silly fic, and some people loved it and some people thought it was out of character. I saw what the neg. voters meant, but it was quite amusing!
All but two weeks I've submitted (and wrote) the day of. I'm not a rewriter, or someone who takes a long time to write something once I've got an idea - I basically sit down and whip it out - so it's not bad, but as the word count goes up I'll have to be more careful about doing that. This week I submitted... tuesday? Definitely a record. And I've already voted, woo! Now I'm all impatient for Sunday.
Oh! I remember that one. I liked it! I didn't vote for or against it, but I thought it was cute ... and funny, and silly, which was what you were after.
I work 8-5 almost every weekday, except for the occasional Thursday off when I get dropped into weekend rota, so I usually do my writing on Thursday nights, if I'm not feeling inspired earlier into the week. I think the submission deadline time is very unfortunate, IMHO.
I think my record is Tuesday, too, and that was back on 2.04. I usually cultivate an idea, turn it over in my head for a good long while, find my hook, and then get it written relatively quickly when I actually sit down to write.
I've voted, too. I'm interested in seeing what happens because there was only one person to be voted out this time!
