Also, the operative word there is or. Mike clearly refers to reading something and remembering it, and then understanding it. That doesn't guarantee that he has all of the possible variations of an eidetic memory, or that he chooses to use them at any given time, or describing them accurately while trying to manipulate his boss into letting him give him a blowjob in order to make a point. And while he does remember what Rachel says to him during the tour, that can be counted as him either paying close attention because it was important or that he's actually clever aside from having an eidetic memory, as the two are not mutually exclusive.
