I could go for the obvious and say I like Bollywood, but again that would be me playing Captain Obvious. Instead, I'll tell you that I have a degree in mortuary science, one that I don't use for anything except having a better understanding of shows like CSI. ;)

Wow that is cool and you're right I didn't know that. Does it really help with CSI or just make you snicker at their mistakes?

Did you see the bollywood number on Big Bang Theory the other week?

It helps me understand the discussions about causes of death and anatomical conversations. :)

I don't watch Big Bang Theory but I'd love to see the ep with the Bollywood number. I'll have to look for that on our On-Demand system. :)

an interesting thing about me... ok. while i am a huge fan of grunge music, i have a severe dislike of Nirvana. i can't even explain why.

i also don't really like the beatles. again, i can't really explain why.

I actually didn't become a beatles fan until recently after I saw "across the Universe" and had a new appreciation for their music. before that I really didn't think they were all that...I know sacrilege to most people of my generation

Who can explain why we like certain bands or songs. I like Rush and I don't know many people who do but I am steadfast in my devotion and my plans to spread the Rush love

Let's see... I teach English as a Foreign Language (which is the only way you can teach English in Greece, of course, but anyway :P), I have a cat named Leia, I've been reading X-MEN and other assorted comic books since I was 14, and I like roquefort cheese.

I tried to be as random as possible. :P

Random is good! Are you from Greece or an expat who went to teach there?

Xmen were always my favorite marvel group but i was a bit thor girl from way back. Who's you favorite mutant?

Yep, I'm from Greece. But I've been an English geek pretty much since I've stepped foot in an english language classroom. Having Aussie cousins has helped immensely, because from a young age I could try and struggle my way through writing and speaking to them; being a sci-fi/fantasy fan has helped even more, because more than half the series/comic books/books we don't get translated here, so I had no choice but to watch/read them in the original ( ... )

I fail at knowing a second language though i can bluff my way through enough Spanish to find the bathroom and other essentials. I think that's awesome that you actually teach a foreign language. and you've been learning it since you were little. Comics were definitely a good reason to learn!

As for mutants I have the same top three (we have so much in common!) plus gambit. I loved the old Kitty Pride (she and Storm were my favorite female mutants) Colossus teen romance stories back in the 80's but I haven't read a comic in ten years though I have a basement full of them from years of collecting - fiances got tight and they were the firdt thing to go.

fit's not to weird to find a comic book character hot then - I find Thor incredibly hot- especially when Simonson drew him with the beard

I can't get a hangover, no matter how I try.

I'm not a drinker as a rule, but I did imbibe quite a lot at uni (but then isn't that what uni is for? *g*) Once during one single six hour party I drank four shots of sambucca, two of absinthe, one tequila and one Baileys/sambucca mix the name of which escapes me right now plus seven Jack Daniels on the rocks. I did not have a hangover.

Nor did I when I went to Russia and drank an entire bottle of very cheap vodka (I think it cost $2US a bottle or something ludicrous like that!).

Nothing to be proud of, and it's safely in my misspent youth, but it's something you didn't know about me! :)

Actually you should be very proud. I know many people who would be jealous of that kind of tolerance - me included.
$2 for vodka!! They might as well been giving it away.
