2009 The Writing Year In Review

Jan 06, 2010 07:23

As seen all over the flist - a summary of all the writing I did in 2009.

Total Words - 163,282! Believe it or not that's less than last year, but I'm still amazed because I really felt like I didn't write much at all. There were a lot more breaks with no writing (like right now)

But the big accomplishment this year was the completion of the crossovers100Read more... )

writing, archive, my fic, meme

Congratulations on finishing your table hon! *cheers* I still haven't finished my Highlander 50 and that was the first thing I signed up to on LJ!

Everyone's been so organised and counted their words this year, but I haven't a clue how many I've written. I've written a lot of fic, but they've all been short so the word count is probably no more than other years.

I admit I've not read much of yours this year (mainly cos of your insistence of writing in these strange fandoms! *grin*) but what I have read has been great as usual. And you sucked me into Castle, so there's that *grin*

Have you seen the Supernatural Crossover Big Bang? Maybe that might prod the Reavers into action? *bats eyelashes*

ETA: Favourite story? It's a tie between the Gibbs Sanction (although I'm obviously biased!) and Orange you glad and its sequel. :)

Thanks!

I know my choice of fandoms was a little excentric this year. I think I may have to finally right in the Dr. Who fanodm - it's been calling to me. Of course if I do then you have to promise to beta!

I also want to write mor Watcher! abby - I was shocked when I realized I'd only written one story in the series this year.

BTW - excellent Icon!!!

Thanks! It came out of a conversation with aeron_lanart about the fandoms we've sucked each other into via crossovers, and it totally applies to you too *grin*. That's why I've not read any of your Mag7 stuff- I really don't need any new fandoms!

You writing DW? I'd be upset if you didn't let me beta :) Can't wait to read what you do with that.

The whole Mag7 craziness came from reading lyl_devil's crossovers (so blame her LOL). It is SO easy to get sucked into new fandoms that way

I've had a few Dr.Who plot bunnies that I've ignored because writing in that fandom seems a bit scary (as I've said before) But I think it's time for a new writing challenge.

Congratulations! That is more than I have ever written in a year... LOL, actually between the two years I think it's more than I have written ever! *g*

And I am going to have to reread a fair amount before I decide which would be my favourite and get back to you - good thing I have this all in one place reference. :)

thank you so much for sharing,
Marns

Thanks! I've been on a roll but I don't think I can keep up the pace.

I am so glad you've enjoyed the stories!

163,282 words in a year?!
*jaw drops*
That's more than I wrote for 2008 and 2009 combined, and I thought I'd written a fair bit! You, my dear, are very wordy! In a good way, I hasten to add.

Favourite story? Probably The Gibbs Sanction - I adore Watcher!Abby.

Ridiculous is what happens when even the supposedly cracky stories turn into serious epics. LOL

I was so surprised I'd only written on Watcher!Abby story - that girl definitely needs more of my attention

I don't know that I could pick my favorite of your stories. I'm not a huge HL fan, so I tend to lean towards Psych and Castle - even if crossedover with HL. :)

You have a knack for dialogue and I love listening to your characters speak. :)

'The Gibbs's Sanction' closely followed by 'The Transitive Property', or vise versa:).

Oh, and special award to 'The Truth is Immortal' - it was the final straw:). After it I thought that M7 fandom is a good place to look for trust/friendship stories, and decided to dive there. And I don't think I'll resurface any time soon:).
