2009 The Writing Year In Review
As seen all over the flist - a summary of all the writing I did in 2009.
Total Words - 163,282! Believe it or not that's less than last year, but I'm still amazed because I really felt like I didn't write much at all. There were a lot more breaks with no writing (like right now)
But the big accomplishment this year was the completion of the crossovers100 table. I'm still giddy that I got it done

Shawn Can't Believe It's Not …Murder: Psych/Highlander: Sequel to Favors. Shawn and Gus follow Lassiter to his meeting with Adam Pierson (Methos)
Orange You Glad We're Friends?: Castle/Highlander: Rick asks his friend, Adam Pierson (Methos), for a favor only an Immortal can grant.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Duncan MacLeod : Castle/Highlander: Rick and Methos invite Duncan over for a very special drink. Sequel to Orange You Glad We're Friends?
The Replacement Job : HL/Leverage: Sophie asks Amanda to take her place on a job.
Monsters vs. Aliens: SPN/X-files:Mulder believes a series of animal attacks are more than they appear to be. When he runs into an old friend, Bobby Singer, who's also investigating the murders, he knows he's right.
Another Fine Mess: HL/Mag7: Buck and Methos and a bit of trouble.
Old Acquaintances : Highlander/Mag7: Methos stops for a drink at Joe's and meets an old friend.

By Any Other Name: The Immortal!Hunters and Mal's crew stop on Persephone where they run into some Alliance trouble. Sam's abilities continue to evolve leading to more questions.
And What Did You Do During the Apocalypse, Methos?: Methos has been investigating Alliance medical looking for the source of the Reaver virus. This story switches to his POV.

Into the Woods:JD and his buddies go on a camping trip to celebrate High School Graduation.
One More Dance: Katie has a surprise for Sam
My Sister's Keeper: MJ goes on a date. JD is not amused.
The Name Game: 3 year-old Jonathan Dean Winchester meets his baby brother for the first time

The Gibbs Sanction: Ducky and Abby have told Gibbs all about Immortals. Will he allow Richie to keep working at NCIS or have him arrested for using a false identity?

The Truth Is Immortal : During a gunfight Chris is hurt trying to protect Ezra. Ezra is torn between telling the others about his Immortality and leaving town to prevent anyone else from getting hurt.
Each Must Know His Part: An unexpected visitor to Four Corners, forces the men to come to terms with Ezra and Charlotte's Immortality
The Tale is in the Telling : Vin Tanner is offered a job he is very sure he doesn't want, but doesn't know how to refuse.
Hell Hath No Fury: Crossover with SPN What if Sam and Dean were hunters in the Old West? The Winchesters are chasing something evil which is leaving a trail of bodies across the southwest. The hunt leads them to Four Corners and a meeting with the lawmen who protect the town.
Echoes of a Distant Time: Ezra Standish, known in the present day as the famous celebrity photographer Edward Zachary Sanboure (Ez), decides to take on a protégé.
Ace In the Hole: Ezra gets an unexpected visit from Amanda.

Overall Thoughts: I wrote in some new fandoms that I hadn't expected to write in. I found it interesting that I wrote mostly in the series rather than stand alone stories. The Muse was more fickle then she'd been in the past and there were some stretches where I just didn't feel like writing.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Less than last year but more than I thought I had
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? X-files. I always loved the show but without a prompt I would never have thought to write in that fandom
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest: Into the Woods. JD Winchester and his Teen!mag7 buddies go camping. it was just so much fun to let JD be the hero and write the mag7 guys as teenagers in my spawn universe.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them: I wrote a non-crossover in a new fandom: They Shoot Psychics Don't They. I had a blast writing Shawn and Gus for the first time.
My best story of this year: . I have no idea but I thought Each Must Know His Part - where Ezra fights his first Immortal challenge was pretty good. But I've been told by several people that The Transitive Property was the best thing I wrote this year.
My most popular story of this year: Orange you glad we're friends? Castle/Highlander
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Another Fine Mess. Methos and Buck just snarking at each other- I thought it was hilarious but no one seemed to notice it.
Most fun story to write: Orange you glad we're friends? Castle trying to kill Methos - This story just wrote itself.
Story with the single sexiest moment: Ace in the Hole. Amanda seduces Ezara and I almost wrote sex!
Most "Holy crap" story: The Transitive Property: I wrote a Mag7 ATF/Make It or Break It crossover fic and that still amazes me. I swear it was supposed to be a silly cracky story and it most definitely was not
Hardest story to write: Hell Hath No Fury - I really wanted to write the Winchesters in the old west and it was a lot tougher than I thought it would be.
Biggest Disappointment: No specific story - just that I didn't finish the Immortal Dean Reaver Apocalypse series
Biggest Surprise: The popularity of Orange you glad we're friends? really took me by surprise
