Someone else on my flist found it boring, as well, so you're not alone. I also got the impression that she wasn't too eager for the next 2 movies, as they're essentially 'Harry Potter goes camping'. (Here's the link.)

And they're walking and they're camping and they're walking, and oh, look! They're camping!

So basically the 7th and 8th movies are going to be the Harry Potter version of Frodo climbing Mount Doom in the last LotR movie? You know the scene, where after 30 minutes you just want Frodo to. Get. Up. The. Damn. Mountain. Already.

::sigh::

I've heard it's a movie you like more if you haven't read the books. Not a stellar recommendation.

Well hubby's friend went with us and he didn't read the book and he wasn't thrilled either. But that truly is not what I'd want to hear about the 6th movie in the series.

I saw it last night and whilst I was bored I have to admit being extremely disappointed in the ending. I don't wanna say why cause don't wanna spoil it for anyone. The thing I hate about the movies is all the important things they seem to leave out verses the stuff that could be.

I certainly did not feel the sense of loss and disbelief that I did reading the book. And while some might say it's because I knew the ending - I disagree because I was incredibly upset when they killed Sirius Black in the last movie even though I knew it was going to happen. (I loved Sirius!)

Oh yeah, I completely agree. Sirius rocks. I was devastated when they killed him off, the book stillo has me crying openly at that part. I've loved Sirius right from Azkaban.

It just felt incomplete if you know what I mean, the ending for me in 'half blood prince' the book anyways is the most exciting part, and to just leave out that whole battle?? Yeah it sucked. Big time!!!!

Azkaban is still my favorite of the Potter movies and books. I love Sirius in the books and Gary Oldman was awesome x10 in the movies.
Don't understand how they turned such and exciting book into such a snoozefest

Over here, it's been reviewed as quite dull, which really surprises me - there's so much drama in the book. I really want to see it myself to find out what they can possibly have done to make HBP dull.

I really can't explain it because the book was riveting and the mystery of the Half Blood Prince was intriguing and the explanation of how Voldemort survived was key to the whole story.

The Movie - at least for me - failed to capture that sense of mystery and urgency. In fact, they gave real short shrift to the potions book mystery.

I just hope this guy isn't directing the last one because I didn't like his take on the series.

All I can say is they had better hurry the next movies along or those 'kids' will be 30 and they won't have to age them for the epilogue scene

LOL- I wondered if there were going to include that seen. The idea of them wrinkling up the the "kids" is hilarious

I actually saw an interview with Emma Watson where she was asked about the epilogue. She said they were playing themselves, and she'd already had a full body cast done. Then she stated the PTB were speaking to the same people who worked on the Benjamin Button movie. I don't know if that means some CGI or darn good masks/makeup.

Yikes - They aren't that old in the epilogue that they need layers of old people makeup. but I am kind of happy to hear they are filming it
