Driving the ADMK around in half-track configuration with the front wheels deployed was possible from the start and is not a field improvisation - although one wonders if the front axle was powered when the vehicle was driven as a half-track, but it would be unlikely, considering the need for synchronization with the tracked suspension, something the Americans were the first to achieve with special Timken transfer cases. Also, the bodywork of this vehicle indicates an ADMK/WARK, the Wehrmacht-specific modified version. http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_english/Motor_Vehicles/Austria/Austro-Daimler/Austro-Daimler_ADMK-WARK/austro-daimler_admk-wark.html
