Explosions: Significantly less awesome in real life.

One of the lightbulbs in my kitchen just EXPLODED! Like, POP and then a crash and now there's glass everywhere.

What the heck just happened? Have any of you guys ever seen something like that before??

zomg, room with a view

I have had that happen! I think it's a small power surge? Small power surge plus older lightbulb, maybe.

Ooh, maybe... They're still doing a bunch of construction around here, so it could've been something like that. I'm just bitter because I had a bag of M&Ms open on the counter that now has glass shards in it. *woeface*

Ahahaha... Can you imagine if I'd been having a rage-fit when that happened? I would've been convinced I had superpowers!

Headbutting a lightbulb is not a superpower. :P

Sort of. I jumped up excitedly from the raised not-staircase landing thing from one part of my house into the other and then I accidentally broke the nearby ceiling lightbulb with my somewhat too gleeful hand.

Heeee! Well, perhaps not a spontaneous explosion, but quite impressive nonetheless! ;-D

Power surge or the bulb had too many watts for the socket. We had something sortof similar happen at old library except when the bulb burst, it also melted the thing the socket hooked into and the metal hodd thingy dropped about 10 feet, barely missing someone. We all blamed the library ghost on that.

Holy crap, how very Phantom of the Opera! This place is brand new, so I'm assuming they would've put the correct wattage in... Maybe the construction workers in the area did something to cause a power surge? *hands*

Such a mess! /o\ The worst part was actually trying to unscrew what was left of the thing from the socket without slicing myself. *glomps*
