One of the things I'm finding as I make the adjustment from a standing-all-day job to a sitting-all-day job is that my bad knee screams bloody murder at me when I finally get off my arse for the day. Not quite as much as it did for standing on concrete all day, every day, but still. The key, it would seem, is moderation....
I shouldn't complain too much, really. One of my friends broke her ankle. She had just quit using her cane when she broke the other. A knee sprain isn't much compared to that kind of grief.
I'm not doing the cold anymore since it's been a week, but hot water bottles do provide excellent relief. Massage? Well, I had one of the kids rub it for a minute, but he lost interest within seconds. Darn kid.

It's getting a bit better, I think. The ache is now situation in my calf, probably because of the way I've been walking.
