book 7/ school started/Naruto

I saw the thing about the book today and I was like "oh, okay, cool" but I'm not so very psyched about it. Still haven't reserved a copy and honestly probably won't. I'll just go buy it where ever I happen to be. Uch, I'll have classes then. Will have to balance that with reading HP, just like I did with HBP

Sorry your physics teacher sucks. Bad teachers make class hard (that sounds like a sentence your grammar prof would hate too).

Maybe I'll check out Naruto when I'm done with Ghost, if you're interested in sending any.

Yeah, I'd sort of had the impression that you weren't so into HP fandom anymore, but I've really enjoyed your posts and the emails we've exchanged. I don't know how long I'll be involved in it. I'm not finding so many stories these days I'm really keen on, at least not as many as I used to. Maybe that's cause I'm getting caught up on stories and current output can't match the vast amount of fic that was waiting for me when I first started. Having said all that I don't know if I'll ever really move onto another fandom; I just don't see myself becoming so interested in another fandom but who knows.

Naruto is at 220+ episodes, so I wouldn't rec it to newbies. I think that a shorter fighting series might be a better option. How about Samurai Champloo? All levels of awesome, much better fights, and only 26 episodes.

I'm finding that my tolerance for badfic is decreasing. The trainwrecks just don't keep me glued like they used to. And there just aren't many goodfics. I doubt I'll participate in a different fandom to the extent that I participate in HP, but I've always read fics in different fandoms. The first fics that I read were actually Ella Enchanted fics.

I just requested Ella Enchanted from my library since you've talked about it more than once. Is the movie any good?

My tolerance for badfic is decreasing as well. I recently read a R/Hr where Hermione was in Azkaban for Arthur's murder. Sure, I'll play along, but the author is really going to have to work to convince me that Ron and Harry believe Hermione is actually guilty. S/He didn't do that, aside from mentioning a couple times that the evidence was overwhelming. I wish more authors would really think things through. The further removed a situation is from canon the more work needed to sell the idea.

It's tolerable so long as you keep in mind that the movie bears no relation to the book.

That fic sounds like one of those "could've been interesting" situations, and those tend to be the most frustrating precisely cause the potential is there.

I sympathize with the urge to hit Sasuke, and have that with Naruto too. I know I picked the perfect time to get involved, though I also downloaded the mangas and plan to read those, and have been spoiled for most everything cause of wiki.

I'm on episode 81, which is a bit frightening considering I started the show late last week.

I'm almost caught up. I'm on episode 110-111, so about 30 more.

Glad to know someone else on the flist was avoiding this show and then got sucked into it anyway, too.
Yeah, next on my considering getting sucked into list is either Prince of Tennis or Ouran High School Host Club. Or Mar if I'm not feeling like a masochist. Or Avatar if I want to be nice and give myself some English. I'm following way too many shows at the moment.

*shrugs* My only reason for thinking of the others is cause my brother already has them. I've seen some Avatar episodes, but at the moment I'm watching them on whichever channel they air on when I can find them. My local video store didn't have them for rent and I guess I feel weird about downloading it for some reason, though that makes no sense. Though yeah, I've been really impressed by the episodes that I've seen of Avatar. (Unlike Skyland, which I've tried numerous times and seem to dislike more on each subsequent view.)
