Some of you may remember my mentioning that I was going to be away this weekend. Specifically, to a little dinky town called Petawawa ( halloween and pup-to-be content herein )

rant, fandoms: black dagger brotherhood series, xmas, halloween, shitness, petawawa, dog, books, family, school

I'm always afraid to hold the little babies for the same reason. I'm better than I used to be but I also never want to watch a small baby.

I love the chocolate lab my Uncle got and I think maybe your mother is probably feeling like it will replace Mica but when it comes out with its own personality she'll love it for itself.

I thought Covet was going to be about angels like Lassiter but it is a little different. Have you read it? It was interesting but not great though I see that with the first two BDB soo I will give the series a chance.

Where Rainbow End is coming in the mail!

I had a pretty bad experience holding my first baby back when I babysat for this family. They'd just adopted a little girl (1-2 years old IIRC) and she WOULD NOT STOP crying all freaking night, whatever I would do. I suspect it's because she'd just made a gigantic leap, didn't know anyone or anything anymore, and she had separation issues. It's understandable since it had literally been a week or so since they'd come back with her. So I mean I didn't freak out too much over my ~abilities~ but I mean it did mark me a little bit. I'm always afraid I won't be able to make the crying stop if it starts. Not to mention the frail little body on top of it. But strangely enough I seemed to have soothing abilities with Zac when he was a baby, and no crisis happened when I held Mik, so I guess all things are good. They're not fussy babies either, which helps. Give 'em a finger to nurse and they'll be fine sucking on it for a while while Milk Mobile gets whatever she was doing done and gets ready for feeding. So all's good ( ... )

Well I'm glad it worked out for you. I never did a lot of babysitting and usually they were older kids so I didn't have to do much. We could play a game or they would watch some tv. No biggy. Babies are a foreign object to me. I have little cousins but have never had to spend much time in the babysitting department. I don't know what to do with them. I don't know how they play. I don't know what they want when they cry... it freaks me out. Sure they are cute to hold (when they get a little bigger) and I love them but eek ( ... )

I worked at a camp two summers and I always felt more comfortable with the younger kids, mainly because they didn't talk back and it's easier to drag them into a game :) But I did help teach ballet class a few years ago for a while so I'm at least good at disciplining the older kids. I help out sometimes at judo, too. But yeah, babies... it's like you don't want to break them haha. But honestly if they're not fussy it's usually pretty easy to figure out what they want. Diaper, food, warmth (and/or play)... the basics!

Hehe I actually called her Brownie yesterday when I was trying to scold her at one point. Let's just say she looks more like a Brownie than my sister's dog! (an orange/white jack russell) lol

Finished it today. Yay is all I can say :)
