Are you working in some English agency? i'm just curious cause you are from Brazil your profile says) does they tell you what to write about or are you free to choose the topic?

Actually, I'm working for a Chinese agency, but I write in English.

I work mostly with hard news, really relevant stuff that happen in the day. So, I'm not free to write what I want, you know. But then, who is?

I have a local editor that tells me what to do. We select the most important news of the day and write about them. Of course, the big guys from the agency can still tell us to report one story of the other, but they don't do it often. I guess they must be happy with our work.
