Invisible Man clearly needs those fancy shoes for running barefoot! Mr. Marvel has the advantage there. Plus, the advantage of being able to eat in public, etc.
(I'm glad Wells touched on eating in an earlier section. I'd always wondered! Cheeseburger shows up faintly until consumed & integrated into the body, okay then.)
