If you had the wardens' collective ear... If they had to listen to you, really listen to you, not just give you the usual lip service... What would you demand from them? Escape is an obvious answer, of course, but beyond that? If you had the power to change the system... What would you do?

Really?

But it's so easy to obtain.

Well, yeah. But it's the principle of the thing. They have their little pub that we can't even go into without a babysitter.

I believe that the infirmary and the Admiral ought not to bring back the dead. It is most unnatural.

I would not demand this, but it would be preferable if they were to consider it.

It is most certainly not. It has been accomplished before and I don't appreciate being called unnatural.

A means by which to communicate with those back home.

Interesting. Do you think the wardens could actually push for something like that? It's definitely possible, considering the occasional glitches we see in the Network...

It would be nice to think so.

A lion pit would not go amiss, either - and I do miss the use of slaves.

You could always try the CES for that lion pit.

We need a method to report wardens and to lodge complaints about their behavior. And even more preferably, we need a system to ensure that the other wardens actually do something about rouge wardens.

I'd also like a method to swap wardens and request alternate ones, but there's only so much one can ask for without needing to throw the Admiral off the barge.

[HOW THE HELL DOES HE AGREE WITH YOU AHHHHH. Have an awkward pause before he speaks all ~cool and casual~]

At the very least, they shouldn't keep their discussions behind a special filter. We deserve a say.

Switching wardens probably couldn't occur without the Admiral's intervention, but a sort of... unofficial back-up warden to keep your own in check could work.

Exactly. There's no transparency, save for the occasional warden reporting things behind the backs of the others.

It could, but there's no way that the wardens would be willing to introduce it.

Of all the things we've done as inmates, has anybody ever compiled a list of grievances on behalf of all of us and just asked?

Demand? I would demand that they make a promise to the inmates. I would want them to promise that they will not flee like cowards when the Barge is too much. I would want them to swear that they will not run when there is chaos.

We pay for our crimes. They say they suffer with us, but they do not. They can run and hide and party. We have no escape.

That would be ideal... I'm sick of them getting vacations on demand while we linger here. The only problem is how to enforce that.

Enforcing it through punishment? Ritual punishment. Violence. Murder. ...but no one will agree with me. It is too messy.

Not all abuse this; not all wardens leave, but some do. The promise of their deal is not strong enough to keep them here - to make them stay, to make them help us.

What if we cannot stop them from abandoning us? What if nothing can be done?

I suppose we could disengage from those who shunt us aside for a nice little vacation. Shun them, refuse to accept them as a warden. They can only take what progress we choose to give them.
