Dear All~

Just a note first to thank you for all the hard work. Stop Plagiarism is one of few avenues of recourse for authors of fan fiction and obviously your investigations expose you to folks who are not at their best. You do valuable work and help make fandom a safer, more dynamic and rewarding venture. Thank you.

I'm writing about Zutara99
(http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1778099/Zutara99)

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this FF member has stolen work from other authors. In the spring, before I knew you existed, I ran across her claiming several works by Azurine and Silver and this same story by Scorpio. I wrote her and showed her the links where the originals were and although she wasn't happy about it, she took the work down immediately. Except, apparently for the Scorpio story which she seems to have immediately re-posted.

Last night, an LJ member who reads my journal wrote and let me know it had happened again with different authors in the same X Men fandom. The reader was going to go ahead and write Zutara on her own, but since that didn't do much to more than temporarily dissuade her from plagiarising again, maybe you guys will be more successful.

The three works Zutara has plagiarised are:

"A Loss of Control"
By Scorpio (http://sentinel-cat.tripod.com/Scorpio/index.htm)

Zutara version: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4875473/1/A_Loss_Of_Control

"The True Meaning of Christmas"
By Askani'daughter

Zutara version: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5298827/1/The_True_Meaning_Of_Christmas

"The Pretending Game"
By Summer

Zutara version: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5179191/1/The_Pretending_Game

The plagiarism is word for word, right down to the summaries, so I won't screencap or highlight anything. It's pretty blatant.

Thanks for giving me a better option than I had previously. I'm sure this is just a kid, but it's still not a good habit to get into and hopefully whatever you do will be more effective than me and my prim little Shame on You.

Best Wishes,
Nrrrdy Grrrl
