On January 27th we received a report that heztastic plagiarized a story called ”You Had Me At Hello” which was originally written by mercuriazs. The original report can be viewed right here.

I hate to put a dampener on proceedings but such an apparently straightforward and even handsome apology makes me even more suspicious. I can't help reading it as "Whoops, you got me, time to change names and fandoms and start up again."

I sometimes wish I wasn't so cynical, but it's a struggle.

And that may well be the case.

But it may also be that since the matter was resolved between the two parties prior to even being reported to us, the person felt they weren't really given much choice.

Hmmm...stay and be harrassed (albeit deservedly), or take my toys and go?

i really don't want to clog up another person's post with this, but as i don't have a LJ account, can someone post it separately for me, then erase this? i'm posting this here mostly because i heard from a forum i was browsing that a mod from fanfiction.net is here, so maybe they can do something about this. all of my attempts (and many other people's) at reporting this has went nowhere. it's been a few years and nothing has been done ( ... )

While I can appreciate the difficulties not having an LJ account presents, in order to assure transparency and accountability in the process, as well as ensuring that the mods of this community remain impartial third parties, we can not repost reports from outside parties. That would include anonymouse/unsigned reports, such as you have made.
