May 14, 2008 23:39

On March 26, 2008, lightbird777 reported that limulan aka Chen06 aka Li Ping aka Ping aka Usagi Chiba aka Marcella plagiarized multiple stories in the Detective Conan, Jane Eyre, Mulan, Sailor Moon, and X-Files fandoms. Her general mode of operation is to translate the fic, including the original title, into either German and/or Italian, and then post it as if she ( Read more... )

The Nights, Memories, and Kisses are all stories from theme comms here on LJ. Most people who do those post them under a collective title like "30 Kisses: Shinichi and Ran," which is why they would seem to have the same title. The only error I spotted in the Detective Conan section is that there are two underscores in my username ^_~

Next free minute I get, I'm going to try looking for those other stories again. I just have trouble believing that they're hers, given her track record. Thanks for putting this all together! It's such a frustrating situation D:

Ah, you're right. I'll fix the underscore thing right now. That's easy enough.

Yeah, way, way too far into this I realized that there was this thematic/challenge thing going on and... yeah. A whole layer I hadn't documented in a way that made any sense on the back side. No wonder I was so confused!

I only skimmed over the entry I shouldn't even be here right now, and for now the only minor mistake I spotted was for A Day at the Store: Tre di mattina is actually 3AM.
And yes, the Mac Animate stories are still up, I never got a reply from them. *sigh*

Thank you for your work on this!

By the way, I think you might want to mention pengychan too?:)

Absolutely. I added in my comment that pengychan should definitely be mentioned. She's the one who brought it to my attention again.

If you need any language related help, I'm Italian, fluent in French and English. I could lend a hand with comparison work in case you'll need it in the future.

I clicked on Dieci Ragioni Perchè ti Amo. It is pretty much a verbatim translation, and not a very good one. I shudder at the amount of work it must have taken for you to assemble all this info.

;)

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I am, sadly, multi-UN-lingual and happy to know there are others who can fill the gap.

If you need help, I'm Italian and can give you a hand in that respect.

I read the 25 tidibits, and they ARE just translated. Why posting someone else's stories as something YOU wrote?

I think we're covered for this case, though I'll defer to the speakers of Italian who've been helping out for the final word on whether more help is needed.

Why posting someone else's stories as something YOU wrote?

Yeah, that's the 64,000 dollar question.

You did way more than I did :)

Some "breaking news": Li Ping has been banned on "Writers Arena" (with my translation from part of your posts in Italian - BTW, Nightingale should have met $hopaholic, the administrator, in a German forum XD), and on "Per Un Pugno Di Fumetti" (A comics-related Forum).
Still waiting news by other admins.
