FMA Yuri Plagiarism

I was directed here by a number of people, following the discovery that one of my fics has been plagiarized. The fic was originally posted in 2006 on Livejournal:

It looks like the only fic where the original author is identified is your A Woman of That Persuasion, although according to FFN rules, I don't think they allow the posting of other's stories, even if you do give credit.

I'll send Paladinstriker an email and see what kind of response I can get.

Since submitting my post here, I've contacted all the authors of the stories listed on their profile, and all three of us have contacted the user. It's been 48 hours since my first attempt to contact them, and still no response. Thank you for this, very much. Maybe someone who isn't one of the authors that were ripped off will have better luck.

We've also filed abuse reports, both for explicit content and for uploading stories that belonged to another author.

If I don't hear back from Paladinstriker, the next step will be that I'll also file reports with FFN. Just to warn you, for reasons I that have not been explained, FFN's abuse/plagiarism folks have not been terribly responsive to requests for the last few months.

I'm not surprised. I've heard nothing but complaints about ff.net and how they do nothing to take care of plagiarism. We've all filed ours sometime in the last 48 hours, but nothing's been done.

Hi there, thanks so much for helping us with this issue. I received a similar message from CrazyNinjaPenguin, and she has permitted to repost her reply. The portions that relate to the above are these:

I'm terribly sorry about this whole thing. This user you speak of asked me to read those fics while telling me that they had written them. I had absolutely zero knowledge otherwise.......... I hope you understand my feelings on the issue, and that I had no prior knowledge...

To date, I have not heard back from FFnet's moderators either.

A few things I've learned from dealing with ffn in regards to plagiarism is when readers submit the abuse forms, the forms will probably be ignored unless they are signed. In the past, there was too much abuse of system--people submitting anonymous abuse claims because of petty nonsense like they were ticked at the author or they didn't like the pairing--that ffn likely just stopped looking at the anonymous claims. You may want to pass this tip on to the readership.
