The purple and green dinner dress suit does nothing for Itachi's complexion. Nothing. He sits, regardless, and picks up his cue cards. It's not that he's incapable of getting into character, it's merely that he's far too apathetic to the whole scenario to do more than dryly, flatly read his lines.
Which, on reflection, might be a bit less scaring than if he attempted some sort of falsetto and acting in this.
"What a lovely idea. It's so splendid to get out with Mr. Bennett now and again, especially when Muffin is usually so fussy."
Pip mostly thinks this shit is lame, and he mostly thinks that dinner parties are for the bored bourgeois who have nothing better to do with their time than sit around pretending to be a bunch of other losers who are really no different from their usual selves.
Well, THE TABLES HAVE TURNED ON HIM, IT SEEMS. Because right now, Pip is clad in a nice swallowtail tux, very reminiscent of a butler from 1930s England-- he even has a monocle to complete the attire, and a little bowtie just because he is just that precious.
It's not like he hasn't met a proper British butler before (because oh, he has), but he just feels incredibly stupid right now as he fixes the little name-badge that he has pinned to his lapel, curly script reading 'BARNABY' on it.
He clears his throat, and in a complete deadpan (and horrific faux Queen's English accent), states:
"If any of the sirs and madams require my service, you need only ring for me, Barnaby."
Kaylee glimpses at the card, but doesn't particularly bother to read straight from it. "And I'm Jaymes--" and she takes a second to grin at the name, because really now it's just silly- "And I work with the Doc over there." And she nods back to Kakashi!
And then, in a not-quite-whisper, she leans over and asks, "What'd'ya think it means by English accent?"
"Ah, you must be Mrs. Bennett then," he replies, faced towards Itachi but looking at his card. And then awkwardly turning towards Sakura, who was probably in a different spot when these cards were written, he says: "It looks like you've found your family. Families are very important throughout the whole animal kingdom and humans aren't the only species--" he stops. "--Humans aren't the only species who have governnesses, or butlers, or even assistants."
Then he looks down at his card. And up at everyone. And after a brief pause, forces a smile.
Quickly, he leans over to Kaylee. "I don't know either. Probably what... Barnaby is doing."
